The agentic AI field is moving from experimental prototypes to production-ready autonomous systems. Industry analysts project the market will surge from $7.8 billion today to over $52 billion by 2030, while Gartner– a global research and advisory firm–predicts that 40% of enterprise applications will embed AI agents by the end of 2026, up from less than 5% in 2025.
2026 is likely to be an inflection point where early architectural decisions will determine which organizations successfully scale agentic systems and which get stuck in a perpetual pilot purgatory.
Single all-purpose agents are being replaced by orchestrated teams of specialized agents. Gartner reported a staggering 1,445% surge in multi-agent system inquiries from Q1 2024 to Q2 2025, signaling a shift in how systems are designed. Elon Musk’s AI tool Grok will no longer be able to edit photos of real people to show them in revealing clothing in jurisdictions where it is illegal, after widespread concern over sexualised AI deepfakes. The UK government said it was a “vindication” for it calling on X to control Grok while regulator Ofcom said it was a “welcome development” – but added its investigation into whether the platform had broken UK laws “remains ongoing”. While White House has allowed NVIDIA to sell H200 chips to China, it seems that China is not interested in the product anymore.
