The Geely Ex5 : Good value or JUST cheap?

The battery-powered Geely EX5 has finally landed in New Zealand, starting at a fairly competitive $51,990. Naturally, Gav took one for a blast to see what you get for your money, how it works as a family car, and if it has that X factor to set it apart from the competition in the very popular crossover market. Powered by a 160 kW / 320 Nm electric motor driving the front wheels, the EX5 is a relatively zippy car in city traffic, but its ride is so smooth you’d be forgiven for thinking it was a old school Cadillac. Its 60.22 kWh battery pack also means it can drive up to 430 km on a single charge; not a bad range for a car that costs a lot less than similar cars from competing brands. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows as we found out. Sure, the car is suspiciously comfortable to drive and it’s loaded with gadgetry such as Vehicle to Load (V2L) and a surprisingly quick rapid-charging time, but the EX5 also has its downsides: namely, a low-speed pedestrian alert noise that almost sent Gav to therapy! šŸ“½ļøIN THIS VIDEO: 0.00 – Intro 0.15 – Tech Specs 1.19 – Design 4.12 – Comfort 6.05 – Space 8.07 – Gadgetry 13.12 – Spud Score #geely #ex5 #evcars #carreview Credit to : Ecotricity NZ
